Task 2(A) - Logo Research & Analysis
I decided to look into and analyze some simple brand logos for my research. Here are the brands I selected for this assignment and my impressions of them.
Task 2(B) - Logo Design

- Explore further for the mind map and sketches because it is very limited and for now idea number 4 is possible but explore further on it.
- Your brand name wordmark is too small in comparison with the rest of the brandmark. This is a consideration as the brand name is something that needs to be visible and utilized especially for new brands (as they are less established). Additionally, if you consider the viability of the design on a smaller scale, you will realize that the brand name looks inconsequential in comparison to the brand mark itself. The 5/6 iterations submitted as progression reflect limited exploration. Ie. can try out other typeface as wordmark in various positions, try different stroke thickness/quality as a lot of the ideas are line based. Generally, so far iterations are unable to visualize a link with the business (matcha centric healthy food & drinks) except the direct match whisk idea (which is too pictorial and does not work well as a logo unless you can simplify it somehow). Best idea to further develop, left panel bottom right (plus sign with small wordmark : to try versions without the double ring behind, try the scale of components ie. if the plus sign is smaller, the wordmark is bigger, where to place leaf in what scale , etc.) and right panel top left (plus idea formed by leaves: explore the form of leave to mimic actual green tea leaves in other variations with the emphasis to developing it to represent the plus form more obviously. Wordmark to be developed with other typefaces and in other positions ie. one line instead of aligned according to the curve of bottom binding circle, can also try the idea without the binding circle)
